Hello October. I feel like somewhere between work, life, friends, family, travel and a Sons of Anarchy binge session I am missing some time and it is now Autumn. It really is the most wonderful time of the year. I love this part of the year and not only for all the HYGGE reasons (although cosy is cool), but because I get to force all the ‘occasion’ and ‘events’ that come with Autumn and Winter upon my poor family and immediate friends. I am talking Halloween, Bonfire Night and then, my personal favourite Christmas. Yep, I am ‘one of them’ and in the words of Beyonce “I ain’t sorry”. Also lets not forget my favourite GoT phrase “Winter is coming”. Expect hashtags, memes, GIFs and maybe even a raven. It is on.
This past weekend was the start of the festivities, we visited Slindon Pumpkins and we bought, sat on and banged many pumpkins with our mates. The kids loved it, although me yelling “don’t bang the pumpkins” could be heard in the next village. Sorry next village. Slindon take their pumpkins seriously and I respect that. There were pumpkins that were almost every colour of the rainbow and Slindon could have easily been used as a Harry Potter film set with it’s thatched cottages, comical road names and winding country roads. I love it when you have those days where the ‘meh’ slides away and you can see the joy in everything. Did I mention I love Autumn?
